Welcome from the Summer Conference Staff

While many students and staff members have been working all year preparing for the 2009 Summer Conferences at Franciscan University of Steubenville, dozens more have joined us and are hard at work getting ready for our first conference of the season - the first 2009 on-campus High School Youth Conference which starts this Friday, June 12.

During the academic year I'm a full-time Communication Arts faculty member, and during the summertime I'm blessed to serve as Video/AV supervisor for the Conferences. I lead a team of 3 great students who bring song lyrics to our conference participants and project the sights and sounds of conference sessions to other locations on campus for visitors and staff.

Dozens of other students are working on other aspects of our conferences. Through this blog I hope you'll have a chance to meet some of people behind the scenes and see at least a few of the things they do to serve our guests. I've been working at the Franciscan University of Steubenville conferences for over 20 years, and have been so blessed by our students, staff, speakers and participants.

I hope our setup goes smoothly this week and I have a chance to share some highlights with you. And I plan to work on this blog's look and settings. But for now I'll wrap up this first post with a look back to last year and photos of some of the students who worked at our 2008 Steubenville Conferences:

  1. Last summer our conference staff shirts were red (obviously). We'll show our new color at this weekend's conference!
